Cafe Kurukuma

Kurukuma Forest is a new concept sightseeing spot opened in August 2001 with the theme of "herbs and health" operated by Nakazen, a long-established manufacturer of health food in Okinawa.  The venue has an Asian herb restaurant, a promenade with birds and butterflies, a health food shop and a fossil museum.

Cafe Kurukuma is a popular Asian restaurant located on a hill along the sea in Nanjo City Chinen overlooking a breathtaking view of Pacific Ocean from the terrace.  This restaurant is already very popular with tourists as a restaurant with a good view of the islands of Kudaka and Kudaka.

Its Asian herb restaurant offers fresh and delicious food, serving about 30 kinds of sumptuous yet affordable dishes from authentic Thai curry with organic herbs to various salads and desserts where you can can experience healthy and spicy tastes.  The popular “Tom Yum Goong” is a hot and sour Thai soup with plenty of coconut milk, seafood and herbs.  "Kurukuma Special" is another must-try item, an assortment of chicken, beef and pork in three curry varieties. Every dish uses plenty of fresh herbs from their own herb garden and seasonal vegetables harvested locally.

Café Kurukuma is one of the few Thai-certified stores in the prefecture.  The Thai government guarantees that the restaurant is an authentic Thai restaurant with its head chef from Thailand.  If you are looking to spend an afternoon having some great Thai food while enjoying a breathtaking view of the ocean, with things to see within walking distance, then Café Kurukuma is the place you should head to.
